Pull up and plug in at Steel Sessions, a nationally touring workshop for developing engineers, producers, and artists who are ready to take their career to the next level. Built on the intersection of knowledge and access, our program is the place to be for creatives looking to hone in on the technicalities of their craft and network with the experts. 

CUSTOM SESSIOnS

In a series of completely custom and private 90 minute sessions, participants have the opportunity to walk through all their questions, interests, and challenges as creators, gaining real-time feedback from industry-renowned professionals in a supportive and culturally relevant environment. In addition to one-on-one studio time, group networking is part of what makes this experience so rich and fulfilling. 

NETWORKING

Our participants spend their time between sessions talking and sharing with some of the most valuable resources in the game: their peers. The vibes are undeniable, with an attendance list full of local NYC creatives shaking the scene and out-of-town special guests. From novices just starting out, to industry giants just passing through, the energy of a Steel Sessions workshop is always inspiring and invigorating. Head knocking guaranteed or your money back.

THE HOSTS

A day at Steel Sessions includes studio time with production duo Buda and Grandz, the musical masterminds behind some of your favorite artists (think Gunna, Rick Ross, Young MA, Nipsey Hussle, Meek Mill, Offset, Dave East, and more). Participants will collaborate in one-on-one sessions to explore their signature sound, and make sure every element of their track is sonically on-point, digging deep into the details of each body of work.

Participants will also spend time in studio with Mike Kuz, a PRODUCER AND ENGINEER whose distinct sound birthed some of your favorite Dave East records, working also in collaboration with industry icons (think GUNNA, OFFSET, Just Blaze, Teyana Taylor, Mary J Blige, Common and more). Kuz has a golden ear for great sound, and leverages his fluency on the board to help participants perfect their levels and increase playback power.

THE COMMUNITY

Beyond the wealth of technical offerings from studio time at Steel Sessions, the creator focus of this program is what we’re most proud of. You will not find a better community of creatives who are ready to support their peers far beyond the studio walls. We welcome producers, engineers, and artists at all levels, and connect them with key industry players who can help guide the next steps of their career. It’s not just talk—we boast in a portfolio of brilliant alumni who have started at Steel Sessions with little industry experience, and are now signed to major labels, achieving platinum-level placements, and working with some of the biggest names in the industry. We are committed to fostering a collaborative community of creators willing to lift as they climb. 

OMAR GRAND

Omar Grand is a producer located in Los Angeles, California. As an attendee at 3 of our first 4 events, Grand came into our community with little industry experience, having worked mainly with local artists while developing his sound. 2 years later he signed a deal with Mustard / 10 Summers and the rest is history. Grand now works with some of the biggest artists in the industry and credits his success to relationships built through Steel Sessions.

RONDON

Rondon has attended nearly every Steel Sessions event and was identified as a rising talent by our team at our first event in April 2017 (Steel Sessions 1). Since then, we’ve worked closely with Rondon to develop his sound and industry Rolodex. A Yonkers native, he now works closely with Poobs & Styles P and has additional credits with Dave East, Benny the Butcher, Lil Kim, Nino Man & Juice World. Rondon will continue to be a force in the industry as we look to further develop him into the future.

DIZZY BANKO

Dizzy Banko has been a staple at Steel Sessions. Having attended Steel Sessions 5 and several events since, he joined our community as a rising producer with a distinct sound. Since further developing with Buda & Grandz and Mike Kuz he has grown to become a top producer in the industry, having produced for Lil Wayne, Pop Smoke, Dave East, Pardison Fontaine, DreamDoll, Youngeen Ace, Famous Dex, Styles P and Don Q. Banko is a 5x platinum producer with a bright future ahead. He continues to thrive within the Steel Sessions community through his collaborative nature.

JOE JOE BEATS

Joe Joe Beats is a rising producer from Staten Island, NY. He has been an attendee at nearly all of our New York events and continues to develop important relationships through the platform. In Joe Joe’s words “Steel Sessions is the top hub for producers and engineers to connect and develop with each other. I’d never miss an event.” Joe Joe has produced several records for Harlem Native, Dave East along with Nas, T.I., Border Buck, Lil Meech and Cashflow Harlem.

MIND, BODY & SOUND

Steel Sessions believes in holistic health and wellness as an integral piece of optimal creativity and performance. With a focus on mental and physical health, we intentionally partner with brands who support the best versions of ourselves. Steel Sessions has a serious of educational initiatives, working with students from local middle schools and high schools to provide introductory-level guidance on music production, engineering, and recording, while incorporating healthy habits. We have also worked with local chefs and health educators to promote healthy lifestyles for optimal performance in and outside of the studio.
